I performed a pre purchase inspection on this 1960 Chevrolet El Camino at the Mecum Auction in Indianapolis, Indiana. Mecum Auctions offered several cars from the John Lucey Collection, featuring highly restored significant examples from Ford and Chevrolet. This El Camino was fantastic, highly restored, and finished in a great color combination. The optional equipment on the car was likely well beyond as manufactured, but a wonderful presentation. As with all auctions to date in 2021, the market has been robust and buyers were aggressive. Therefore, bidding on this car went beyond the expectations of my client. Mecum sold the El Camino for $120,000 at auction hammer, $132,000 with premium. In conclusion, well above the estimate of $60,000 to $80,000.
1960 Chevrolet El Camino Mecum Indy
I performed the inspection of the 1960 Chevrolet El Camino at Mecum in Indianapolis, Indiana. I performed included an examination of paint and body, paint meter measurements, and review of records and documentation. Additionally, I started the vehicle in place, tested features and equipment, chassis and suspension were inspected. I photographed the vehicle, delivered over 150 detailed photographs of every aspect of the car, including undercarriage with my summary. In conclusion, I fully reviewed the vehicle and consulted the client with the findings so he was able to make an informed bidding decision.
