1973 Maserati Bora Phoenix, AZ 2014
I traveled to Phoenix, AZ earlier this year to perform a Pre Purchase Inspection and Appraisal on this 1973 Maserati Bora. These are fantastic cars that are powered by a wonderful 4.9L, Four Cam, 4 Carbs, V8, that produced 300 HP. The transaxle is a 5 speed unit from ZF. These were capable of over 170 mph. maserati started production of the Bora in 1971 which continued to 1978. Only 524 Bora’s were produced in total. The early Bora’s were produced with a 4.7L engine which increased to 4.9L in 1973. This car turned out to be a complete repaint, and ultimately a color change. My client and the seller were able to successfully negotiate a deal. The current owner will be restoring the car back to it’s original color.
