My inspection found this a very good original example of the Alfa Romeo GTV 2000, finished in Navy Blue with a Natural vinyl interior. The mileage indicated, 26,016, is believed to be original. The paint on the car was largely original, with some flaws. This car has its original 2.0L four-cylinder motor and a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, this car has 14 x 6 Cromodora wheels, a limited-slip differential, three-point front seat belts, and air conditioning. Bonhams cataloged the car with an auction estimate of $75,000 to $100,000. Bonhams sold the car for $112,000 with the buyer’s premium.ย

The GTV 2000 was an exciting car of the time, with an elegant Bertone design and an engaging driving experience. Alfa Romeo produced 37,459 of this model through the years 1971 to 1976. As mentioned, the car had a 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder engine, making 131 bhp with a top speed of 120 mph. Additionally, it only weighed 2,425 pounds, giving the car a light and nimble feel. The U.S. and Canadian market cars were fitted with mechanical port fuel injection by SPICA, while the rest of the world had twin carburetors. These cars also had solid disc brakes on all four wheels.
