I performed a pre purchase inspection on this 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS in California. The Carrera RS was a performance model of the Carrera. It featured a higher output motor 260HP, lightened flywheel, close ratio gearbox, and an adjustable lowered suspension. The RS featured lightweight racing bucket seats, aluminum hood, magnesium wheels, and lightweight glass. To further lighten the cars, deleted were rear seats, AC, power windows, and radio. Due to the lowered suspension, the Carrera RS was never imported to the US as a street car by Porsche. Total production was just short of 2300 cars.

I performed an inspection on this 1992 Porsche Carrera RS in California in the early days of COVID. An interesting trip in late April 2020. This car was a great example that was well kept, well stored, and free of any issues. My client ultimately purchased the car, had it fully serviced, detailed, to be enjoyed. I had the pleasure of spending a great day with this car on a great drive. Ultimately, I found the 964 Carrera RS to be a special Porsche driving experience, very different than the US delivered RS America.
