Expert Auto Appraisals performed an inspection on this 2008 Koenigsegg CCX. I performed the inspection in Beverly Hills, California. I first saw this car in Miami and found it to be the same after the assignment to inspect this car. The car was a very nice car with a few oddities from production quirks and age. The car showed very well. Koenigsegg produced a true supercar with all bases covered. The engine compartment is gorgeous. I will say that the car was a handful in LA traffic, but a unique experience.
The car was consigned to the RM Sothebys auction this August in Monterey. RM Sotheby’s sold the car on the auction block for $1,215,000 including buyers premium. I feel that was an expected result.
Koenigsegg CCX
The Koenigsegg CCX is an incredible supercar. The chassis is carbon fiber reinforced with kevlar and aluminum. Koenigsegg designed the engine in house, a twin turbo 4.7L V8 producing over 800 HP and able to be run on 91 octane fuel. Another interesting fact, the carbon fiber wheels were the first of their type. A CIMA 6 Speed gearbox transferred power. Given that, the CCX is able to reach a top speed in excess of 245 mph with a 0-124 mph in 9.0 seconds. Koenigsegg produced only 30 CCX’s as well as a small mix of special editions, 49 in total.
Expert Auto Appraisals perform inspections on Koenigsegg and all other marques in Florida and throughout the United States and Canada. I attend the auctions in Scottsdale, Monterey, and Amelia every year. Because of this, I am available for inspections at RM Sotheby’s, Gooding & Co., and Bonhams. I also regularly attend Mecum, Russo and Steele, Barrett-Jackson, and GAA auctions.
