The car is equipped with the 283 V-8, rated at 230 HP and mated to a Powerglide automatic transmission. The engine is the original numbers matching motor. An uncle of mine purchased the car in 1975. I actually saw the car at the dealer prior to his purchase. The car was for sale at classic car dealer in Clarence, NY. I believe the name of the dealership was Yaeger’s. As a kid, I used to go there quite frequently. Whenever I was there, I remember looking at every car they had. To my surprise, I was at my Uncles home when he came home with it a few weeks later. The car was Horizon Blue at the time. When I inspected the car to take the photos in this listing, I found a few signs of the blue. My uncle ultimately restored the car to Roman Red, completing the work about 1990.
The car today still runs and drives quite well. The paint has a few flaws from storage. Most noticeably a scar near the right headlight. The paint has several signs of age, but from 10 feet, still shows quite well as seen in the photos. The soft top and hard top are both white. The intake, carburetor, distributor, engine are original to the car. Overall, the car is a very nice, numbers matching 1960 Corvette that is the subject of a restoration, now over 30 years old.
