I performed a Bring a Trailer auction inspection on this 1973 Ferrari 246 GTS Dino. The car was inspected at the Driver Source. facility in Houston, TX. Driver Source offered the car on Bring a Trailer auctions. As always, the seller was very accommodating of my inspection. Bring a Trailer sold the car for $630,000 at auction hammer, $635,000 with buyer premium. In light of winning bid, I would consider the car very well sold. This result shows the strength of the Ferrari 246 Dino in todays market.
This was a car with a known history and still remains unrestored, however still looks good. Driver Source was selling this car on Bring a Trailer. In total, Ferrari built 3,569 246 Dino’s, with only 1,274 being GTS built from 1972 to 1974. Photos below will show the overall condition and some of the unique pieces. This Ferrari Dino inspection showed the car for what it was, allowing my client to make a buying decision. The car was a very nice example that ran and drove well. The paint was nice but not perfect. The car went well over the expected range. Consequently, Hagerty did an article showing this to be one of the most expensive Dino’s sold in an online auction.
