Early Pontiac Trans Ams have been a favorite car of mine since it first hit the dealer showrooms in 1973. I traveled to Seattle, WA, to look for a good client. Its owner well represented the car. Pontiac Super Duty cars are scarce. Pontiac made only 1295 Super Duty cars from 1973 to 1974, and only 500 of these cars made it to the public. The inspection of a Super Duty is a bit unique. My assignment included the valuation, review, and verification of all the drive line components. Super Duty motors have unique characteristics not seen on regular production cars. This example was the rarest version fitted with a 4 Speed Transmission.
A key point, at the time of production, the Super Duty was one of the most powerful motors available. Another fact often overlooked is that Pontiac offered the Super Duty motor in the Trans Am and Firebird Formula.
